We're Back!!

Rust 2 Rome 2009 Topped all other years with 10 cars and 2 bikes taking part and a total of 28 people! This year they came from Mexico, Poland, London and Norway! With two camera crews taking part team Freedom (video) and team Independence (photography). Our photography team Sam & Luke joined us once again and took over 6000 pictures! There was an all new route taking applicants through Switzerland stopping in at places like the Ace Cafe London, Coventry Transport Museum as well sleepovers like an old church school in the hills of Tuscany! Of course the luxury hotel and evening meal was waiting for everyone only a half a mile from the Coliseum in Rome! |

Rust 2 Rome Supports CHAS (Children's Hospice Association Scotland)

Rust 2 Rome will be supporting the charity CHAS. The Children's Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) is a Scottish charity established to provide hospice services in Scotland for children with life-limiting conditions. |

"Dreamz 4 u is a charity set up to help young people across the UK. The children have a range of difficulties ranging from severe epilepsy, cancer and cerebral palsy," commented Jim (founder of Dreamz 4 U). |

The charity was started by Dundee man Jimmy Michie. When finding out his daughter had a brain tumor, he started spending more and more time in hospital. Watching all the pain and suffering around him in the wards prompted him to raise money for these children. Dreamz 4 u was born... |

First Female Applicant!

We now have our first female applicant! Anna Gorniak has just signed up with team H.A.M. in car 03 as Passenger. Anna will be traveling along side Mark Stuart or 'Mojo' as Driver and David Herd or 'Herd' as Copilot! She is so excited about the upcoming rally that she has ordered her t-shirt right away so she can wear it when she goes out on Friday! |

We are now taking applications for the 2008 Rally. Applications are processed on a first come first serve basis. To get a good number sign up as soon as you can. Applicants in Rust 2 Rome 2007 used numbers up to 07 which means 08 and onwards will be given to whoever signs up first. |

The last applications will be accepted on the 5th of May 2008 after this point we cannot guarantee you a place in this years rally. However if you do want to sign up after this date please contact Marko directly and he may be able to help you out. |

Marko Returns From Mexico!

Marko has finally returned from Mexico after spending almost half a year there. He is now working full time on Rust 2 Rome 2008 finalizing the new route and promoting the event. Now he is back feel free to get in touch with him for any questions! |

“I’ve been busy since returning from Rome in June. I took my Mustang to Sweden to the Power Big Meet in Vasteras and won the Long Distance Award for driving all the way from Guadalajara. Then I designed a new simulator capsule for Fx Simulation along with some other design work. Don Julio Mexican cars made its first sale and I am now out in Mexico, have been since October 2007. |

I realized I needed something to get around in here so borrowed a 1986 Ford Thunderbird belonging to the family I was staying with. After a lot of breakdowns I decided to get something a bit safer. Remembering the Transformers the Movie I remember seeing a yellow Camaro like Bumblebee for sale. So for £900 I bought my Bumblebee Camaro. In true Rust 2 Rome style, it’s got a cracked windscreen and a couple of missing body parts, but it’s got a 350 V8 with custom headers and a performance carburetor plus a posi-trac LSD and traction bars for going up the drag strip! But it does have working seatbelts unlike the T-bird. Though now it seems to have lost 3rd gear!” |

Rust 2 Rome 2008 Underway!

Preparations for Rust 2 Rome 2008 have begun already. Next years rally is going to be bigger and better than before. There will be an all new route to keep it interesting for all the previous drivers and Marko will be taking a reconnaissance trip to scout out checkpoints and sights which will formulate a large part of next years event. |
